How the number is calculated
- Formulas
- Federal and other provincial and territorial figures come from CRA T4127 (122nd edition, January 2026). Quebec tax comes from Revenu Québec (TP-1015.F-V, 2026), QPP from Retraite Québec, and QPIP from the Québec government rate table. Reference cases worked by hand from the published formulas are checked automatically.

- Federal and provincial tax, CPP and CPP2, EI, the basic personal amount, provincial surtaxes and low-income reductions.
- Not counted here
- RRSP deductions, dividends, capital gains and self-employment are left out of this quick estimate. The full calculator counts them.
